Angel T. Dionne
City Living

Acrylic on canvas, 30x40cm
Artist Statement: City Living is a surrealist exploration of seclusion and loneliness. It features fish, who, confined and isolated in their respective structures, are out of place in their urban environment. They stand as symbols of displacement and the experience of alienation, and the bold red, black, orange, and yellow color palette creates a sense of anxiety. How does not belonging affect a person? What does it mean to be out of place?
